About Maerose

Maerose is a classic Herreshoff daysailer with only a few seasons use in exceptional condition.

The Petrel is a fiberglass-hulled replica of Capt. Nat’s legendary Fish Class design whose graceful appearance and sweet sailing characteristics are well appreciated in the present day. The 9’ cockpit with high contoured backrests is comfortable for a crowd. The cuddy cabin offers shelter and dry storage plus a V-berth for two.

Maerose is equipped with turn-key inboard electric propulsion that adds immensely to the convenience and full-day enjoyment of each outing. A second great convenience is the freshly painted and updated Triad trailer. The sails (Hood mainsail and self-tacking jib) and a full complement of Sunbrella canvas (sails covers, tent cockpit cover, cockpit and cabin cushions and mast boot) all show little wear.

Outfit is extensive and includes unique Herreshoff details such as the graceful toerail/rubrail/sheer strake and handy fold-down tiller comb for anchoring and self-steering. All brightwork including spruce spars and teak trim and all bronze hardware is original and shining. House electrical including AC & DC panels is all new.

Maerose is beautiful to look at, delightful to sail or motor, and ready to launch.
