Maerose is a classic Herreshoff daysailer with only a few seasons use in Bristol condition following comprehensive overhaul and upgrades including electric inboard power.
The Petrel 21’s are fiberglass-hulled replicas of Capt. Nat’s legendary Fish Class design whose graceful appearance and sweet sailing characteristics remain unsurpassed. The 9’ cockpit has high contoured backrests and is comfortable for a crowd, while the cuddy cabin offers shelter and dry storage plus a V-berth for two.
The ultra-quiet, turn-key inboard electric propulsion adds immensely to the convenience and full-day enjoyment of each outing. An added convenience for storage or launching is the freshly painted and updated Triad trailer. The sails (Hood mainsail and self-tacking jib) and a full complement of Sunbrella canvas (sails covers, tent cockpit cover, cockpit and cabin cushions and mast boot) all show minimal wear.
Outfit is extensive and includes unique Herreshoff details such as the graceful teak toe rail/rub rail/sheer strake and handy fold-down tiller comb for anchoring and self-steering. All brightwork including spruce spars and teak trim and all bronze hardware is original. House electrical including AC & DC panels was new in 2018.
Beautiful to look at, delightful to sail or motor, and ready to launch!
