When one magically blends the talents of the Yacht Design Firm of Sparkman and Stephens with the premier USA builder Hinckley Yachts, the final product is more of a masterpiece and a creation than just another floating 35 foot boat.
The lines drawn are pure gorgeous, classic and timeless. Sweet is also a word to use
For a Hinckley Pilot 35 Sloop, long over hangs, low sweeping sheer, and a hull shape that spells sailing fun on all points of sail. It says and is yachting at her finest form. It says NY Yacht Club, classic days of sailing Newport and of the quiet smooth waters bordered by its mansions, forests and the breathtaking landscape that we all work to enjoy.
Our offering is hull number 1303 in the series of Pilot 35s built between 1962 and 1975, for she was launched in 1970. For the last 25 plus years, she was sailed once or maybe twice each season and then put back to rest for she is owned by an aging Yachtsman and Gentleman who owns one of the largest marinas in Annapolis, Maryland. This actually means that she was maintained properly, professionally and has had very little use.
Sails are almost new, her dark blue awlgrip hull shines, she doesn’t have much “stuff” on her, so this means that she’s pretty much “just the way she has been since birth”. Her Volvo diesel has less than 626 hours on it, her exterior varnish is newly refreshed, and her interior woodwork is pure Hinckley. Fuel and water tanks have been replaced several years ago. Structurally, mechanically and electrical systems are solid and fully operational as is her rig.
Aging owner is done with her and wishes his Meritage enjoyed.
