Hi, I'm Bernie Jakits. After 20 years of owning and running a successful brokerage in Annapolis, my partner Kate Christensen and I have merged our company with David Walters Yachts. We are happy and excited to be a part of something bigger and continue to live our passion that started long ago. When I was an engineer in the aerospace industry I had lots of time to read every sailboat review and follow every development in the industry. I dreamed of one day owning a distinctly different brokerage firm and it all came true when in 1997 I started RogueWave Yacht Sales It came out of a passion for the sea and love for the beautiful vessels that sail on her. My vision was to create a new kind of brokerage dedicated to honesty and integrity and desire to help people be successful and achieve their bluewater sailing vision. Kate Christensen joined me in 2001 to share that vision and bring her talents and expertise in business and marketing as well as her passion for sailing her Bristol Channel Cutter. Over 20 years, we built an incredible brokerage and consulting firm specializing in ocean going vessels and live aboard cruising sailboats. We have advised and guided over 800 Clients worldwide from as far away as Hong Kong, Brazil, Australia, Europe and everywhere between, so that they too can also achieve their dream of owning and cruising with a capable bluewater vessel to find and reach their own horizons. We have the experience and expertise required to really help people.
For over 45 years, I have sailed, delivered and worked on hundreds of different types of vessels. Representing many clients, I have sailed in the North Sea to Med, across the Atlantic, and in the South China Sea and the, Pacific, the Caribbean Islands and also both Coasts of the USA. Having owned and maintained over 3 million dollars worth of sailing vessels, I have vast experience with incredible sailing vessels from the Hallberg Rassy 53 or a Valiant 40 & 42, a Norseman 447, a PSC34, and a BCC28. I've sailed to many foreign ports and also lived aboard while raising a family. Kate and I have had the opportunity to have incredible sailing adventures aboard our boats from the amazing Bristol Channel Cutter to the Hallberg Rassy 53 and finally our Valiant 42 that we built new in 2008 when we were Valiant Dealers in Annapolis. We have sailed far and lived aboard; we have led the Caribbean 1500 to the Bahamas. We have raced to Bermuda. We have delivered boats from the North Sea to the Med and from Guatemala to Annapolis and of course from the Caribbean to Annapolis many times. Through that experience we can help cruising couples make the right decisions. I have decommissioned and shipped many vessels and put them back together again, for myself and also for our clients. I have upgraded each vessel we owned installing every system imaginable, and maintaining every boat properly. I have taught and advised clients so that they themselves will have a pleasant and rewarding experience. Being a fellow boat owner and having personally experienced both sides of being a buyer and a seller, I understand your concerns.
With these many years of experience I have come to know and appreciate what a truly high caliber blue water sailing yachts is and should be. As a licensed & bonded professional yacht broker, please give me the pleasure of helping you define your requirements and help choose your next passage making/offshore capable sailing or power yacht. My experience is gained from having had a 100 Ton USCG Master License, being a Captain on several ocean races, having been a Marine Surveyor, and of course my background as an MSME Mechanical Engineer. And most important of all, I have sailed over 100,000 offshore miles, on my own boats and delivering countless boats for client to about everywhere.
Now as the RogueWave Division of David Walters Yachts, Kate and I carry on the RogueWave traditions as Your Choice for Bluewater Boats! We continue to specialize in the bluewater boats we love; the vessels of quality, style, and substance. We are skilled in understanding the unique requirements of each individual to find them the right boat. Our mantra of Honesty, Integrity, Love for our Ocean, and Appreciation for the Beautiful Vessels that Sail on Her, remain the passions that we share with all of you. Sailing isn't a hobby to us, it's a lifestyle. And we remain your choice for bluewater boats.

"Reposado" as she is called, is a sailing yacht that is a lion in sheep’s clothing. Sailors always say, cutaway forefoot and a rounded rear, she must be from an age of older and much slower designs. Not true for I speak from experience. I remember some 30 plus years ago, while pulling up anchor, outside the breakwater of Port Townsend, Washington, on a typical Puget Sound stormy winter day. It was a day of a heavy overcast, blowing like stink, out of the south at about 20 with a good sea running. Anchored next to me, was a TaShing Baba 40 doing the same. I was on my Norseman 447 at that time which is also a Perry design and TaShing built yacht. We decided to sail and “race” back to Shilshole, where we both came from. All the way back to port, for some 30 miles, the lion in sheep’s clothing sailed powerfully, pointing high, sailing straight, stiff, and tracking like a freight train; playing a game of catch me, for every boat nearby sailing is called a race. We arrived back at our slips, at the same time, laughing at the fun which we both had.
TaShing builds boats as good as the best that the USA and the World has to offer, bar none. The woodwork on them is flawless, the stainless perfect, the glasswork is the quality of artwork. They are as beautiful as they come, if its form, fit and function. When looking at the small things on her, like all screw heads facing the same direction, and all the grains of wood run as one, the fiberglass is like a mirror, the bilges are painted, the drawers and cabinets finished perfectly. I can go on for hours on the quality of Reposado, but do yourself a favor, come inspect her for yourself so that you can admire and enjoy the sheer beauty of her. You’ll own her after you do.
She’s a true cutter rig, easy to power up and power down if needed. She makes single handed sailing a breeze. The deck layout all makes easy safe sailing, where her side decks are wide and navigable. She offers stainless cockpit rails to her side boarding gates and her 32 inch stanchions offer complete security and safety. Winch and deck layout makes any sailor feel comfortable.
The interior makes spending time or fulltime living aboard, a dream come true. When stepping below, one gets a feeling of solidness, of light, of style, of the feeling that everything is as new as can get. If it's her flawless woodwork that even has the areas under the bunks and draws finished in satin teak, this boat is beautiful. The galley has storage galore, the cabinets can store whatever one needs, the counter tops and galley arrangement is ever so workable. The interior has a flow to her, that works. The aft stateroom is one that you can actually get dressed in and has a berth that is a bed, a bed that one doesn't need to bend and ache to get into or out of. There are drawers and cabinets everywhere and a big closet to hang your blue blazer and the Mrs' evening dress. The salon area offers the owners and guests an inviting feeling of comfort and warmth. The navigation and communications area is a proper one. In other words, it all works as it should.
Forward to port is the bathroom, offering a stall shower and a washbasin/toilet area that equals a land-based bathroom. It's bright, airy and clean. Still further forward is the forward stateroom, with a closet that one can hide in, drawers, stainless ports, built in hatches, and wonderful comfortable bed. Reposado is a wonderful, turn-key, go now, and comfortable safe liveaboard voyager.
Reposado’s owners replaced all chain plates, all standing rigging is new. She has new Garmin electronics, consisting of HD radar, chart plotter, below deck autopilot and wind/speed/depth. She has a powerful electric windlass and the proper ground tackle to keep her in place when needed. Mechanically, her Yanmar is clean, low hour and fully functional. Her sails are “lightly’ used, she has great canvas, and her exterior wood is in its natural state. Her side decks are teak covered and are in above average condition, with many, many more years left on them.
Reposado Owners, who cared for her with love and money, lots of money, need and want her sold. Please give me a call to talk boats and dreams and if Reposado is in your stars; for if she is, she’ll guide you safely, swiftly, and comfortably to wherever you find joy and peace. She brings all of this in a sound and slid and very beautiful package. She’s a rare offering in a sailing world of lots of plastic. As the old saying goes, “they don’t build um like they used to", for she is aging like a beautiful woman, if it's Lauren Hutton, Jane Fonda or Raquel Welch. We should all have those genes.
Reposado is the real deal. Bring offers for all sensible ones will be presented and considered.

The large chart table has a lift up top uses the settee end for seat. This ships office provides the dashboard for electronics and an iPad holder for use underway. The electrical breaker panel is right there as well.
The galley to port is well appointed and provides all the amenities. It is a proper safe galley for an ocean going sailboat.
