HULL AND DECK The Taswell 44 RS hull is constructed of hand laid GRP with vinylester resin for superior moisture resistance and both mat and roving fabrics. She's a solid and stiff boat with numerous longitudinal stringers. The superior hull to deck joint is both mechanically and chemically bonded with 5200 and 3/8" stainless steel bolts on 8" centers. The deck has a sandwich construction with 1/2" end grain balsa core. In areas of high stress and heavy loads solid construction and backing plates have been utilized. On deck, varnished teak seats on the stern rail are a favorite of many sailors and make for an enjoyable spot to lounge and relax both at anchor or under sail. The integral swim platform with shower has been well designed to provide easy access right down to the water level, perfect for boarding the dinghy! A stainless-steel swim ladder tucks neatly into a flush fitting compartment and grab rails on either side are perfect for divers getting in and out of the water! The aft boarding gate and split backstay allow unobstructed access to and from the boat.
