A strong hull combined with an easily handled sail plan makes the 45.5 fun and easy to sail even with a small crew. Another desirable feature is her centerboard system which allows shallow water anchoring with the board up or good windward ability with the board down.

Accommodations

Ted Hood and Bristol Yachts designed and built fine cruising yachts that combined excellent sailing qualities with comfort, safety and good storage.

She has two large double sleeping cabins, two heads with showers, a comfortable salon that can sleep three, and a large efficient galley.

The guest stateroom is forward with a large V-berth. The head and shower are next, aft to port with entry from the stateroom or from the companionway to the salon. The forward stateroom has ample storage in lockers, drawers & cubbies.

Opposite the forward head is a storage unit with drawers that is currently used for tools, parts and accessories.

The salon has a good-sized, centerline dining table with drop leaves and center wine storage. The L-shaped settee to port pulls out into  double bed. The settee to starboard converts into a comfortable single berth. Aft of the starboard settee is the galley. Aft of the port settee is the freezer, and aft of the freezer is the forward facing navigation station.

Master cabin is aft with a private head & separate shower stall. The two large berths are starboard and port. Storage cabinets surround the berths and the cabin includes drawers and a large hanging locker.
