John’s passion for being on the water began in college when a fraternity brother taught him how to sail. After 16 years in medical sales, John followed his passion for being on the water. He earned his USCG 100 ton Masters license with sailing and towing endorsements as well as his RYA Yachtmasters.

His new career as a luxury charter captain took him from the Carolinas, through the Bahamas and Caribbean along the entire East Coast to New England. He’s done delivery work on a variety of vessels and his experience has also taken him though sections of the Great Loop. His knowledge of systems aboard yachts was strengthened while working in the Annapolis Maryland area in technical support for Vetus –Maxwell and later as a service manager for Hinckley Yacht Services on the Chesapeake Bay.

John enjoys teaching and has his American Sailing Association instructor certification.  Combining travel with boating has brought him vast experience in wonderful destinations including Italy, Tahiti and Greece. John can help you navigate through the sales process, whether you’re buying or selling a yacht. His familiarity with sailing and power vessels of all sizes and configurations including catamarans will help you make better decisions in your search for the right yacht. The cockpit is generous size with a great view of the bow and deck. The folding wheel gives you easy access to the swim platform and all instruments, chartplotter and controls are right at your fingertips. Plenty of storage in compartments on either side. All lines lead aft to winches and line management pockets on either side of the companionway. Bimini, Dodger, and connector keep you out of the spray and out of the sun. Stern seats on either side of the helm station gives you a great place to relax while you let the autopilot steer towards your destination.


Interior Space

The Hunter 460 is a comfortable cruiser, perfect for the cruising couple or family. A master stateroom forward with walk around queen berth (no jumping over your partner in the middle of the night), an ensuite shower to starboard and a separate head to port keeps is perfect for the cruising couple and guarantees a dry head.

Plenty of natural light and ventilation, the master stateroom also provides plenty of storage.

Moving aft you'll enter the large salon with new custom made cushions and a large table that can be dropped down for additional sleeping space or enjoy a movie on the large TV and just drift off to sleep. A second table is also available for the salon (see photos of smaller table)

The galley is large and has a three burner propane stove, double sink, refrigerator and separate freezer. A microwave for those quick meals or popcorn rounds out this galley.

To Starboard is the Navigation station, with DC and AC panels, SSB Radio and VHF. Plenty of storage space on both sides for those long journeys. A nice size head and separate sink area to starboard. Further aft is a large stateroom to Starboard and a smaller cabin to port.

The feeling of abundant space with natural light, and plenty of ventilation makes the interior space cozy, comfortable, and enjoyable. Two AC systems with reverse cycle heat keep this yacht comfortable no matter what the weather.
