Exceptional 2010 Hylas 46 Hull #68
Nothing Left to Compromise – As Perfect as You Will Find
SECOND CHANCE is an exceptionally well cared for and desirably equipped Hylas 46 that has just come on the market. She is in excellent condition with low machinery hours, a newer 6kW Northern Lights generator, configured for push-button sailing, and includes a comprehensive list of upgrades. The 46 is one of Frers’ most successful designs built by one of the world’s highest quality semi-custom yards, Queen Long Marine.
SECOND CHANCE is set up to sail shorthanded with Schaefer in-boom electric furling mainsail, Furlex electric furling genoa, four electric winches in the cockpit, and Side Power bow thruster. Her luxury options include 2 zone reverse cycle A/C and heating, state of the art electronics including upgraded touchscreen Simrad chartplotters, a removable Selden bow sprit and Dyneema inner stay, pushpit stainless-steel railings extended to mid-ship, combination washer and dryer, recently installed 12VDC watermaker, Mamba solid linkage steering, and an extensive sail inventory.
As hull number 68, SECOND CHANCE is one of the last 46’s constructed. A one owner boat, she was commissioned by a knowledgeable sailor and designed with the most desirable interior refinements offered by Hylas Yachts. Her exceptional condition is evident in the fact she was used only 4 months out of the year and often kept in a climate-controlled environment with the rig down and annually inspected in the off season. She is available fully commissioned and ready to cruise in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Quote from “Sailing a Serious Ocean” by John Kretschmer:
“A capable and very livable center-cockpit, it hits the target for what most cruisers are looking for today. Like all Hylas models the 46 is built like a rock with first-rate gear. The design is definitely more modern than that of other Hylases on the list, the 44 and 40. I have plenty of offshore miles on this model and wouldn’t hesitate to take it anywhere.”

Interior Styling & Additional Features:
Spacious and remarkably bright with natural light and excellent ventilation. The raised salon windows wrap around to provide impressive visibility and wonderful seascapes while underway. Fixed portlights on either side offer even more light and spectacular views when seated at either the wrap around dinette seating area with table to port, or the long settee to starboard. Storage is abundant with cabinets and shelving above and lockers below the settees. The superior joinery and hand fit craftsmanship by which Hylas earned their reputation is evident in every detail.
With over 7’ of countertop surface, the galley of the Hylas 46 is both functional and practical. Ideal for passagemaking yet comfortable and refined, features such as the high efficiency 12VDC Frigoboat top and front-loading refrigerator and freezer, deep basin sinks, microwave and Force 10 three burner gimbaled propane cooktop and oven, thoughtful positioning of the rubbish bin, cutlery rack, and pullout cutting board just make sense. There’s no shortage of storage with deep drawers and cabinets lining the length of the galley outboard and a dedicated pantry and spice rack inboard.
Outboard facing navigation desk adjacent to the companionway to port with a tan Ultrasuede chair with an adjustable stainless-steel cantilever base which stows out of the way to enable access through the aft passageway or when requiring access to the engine compartment. Bi-Fold navigation desk well sized for chartwork and plotting. Access to ships systems, controls, and both DC and AC electrical panels.
