John’s passion for being on the water began in college when a fraternity brother taught him how to sail. After 16 years in medical sales, John followed his passion for being on the water. He earned his USCG 100 ton Masters license with sailing and towing endorsements as well as his RYA Yachtmasters.
His new career as a luxury charter captain took him from the Carolinas, through the Bahamas and Caribbean along the entire East Coast to New England. He’s done delivery work on a variety of vessels and his experience has also taken him though sections of the Great Loop. His knowledge of systems aboard yachts was strengthened while working in the Annapolis Maryland area in technical support for Vetus –Maxwell and later as a service manager for Hinckley Yacht Services on the Chesapeake Bay.
John enjoys teaching and has his American Sailing Association instructor certification. Combining travel with boating has brought him vast experience in wonderful destinations including Italy, Tahiti and Greece. John can help you navigate through the sales process, whether you’re buying or selling a yacht. His familiarity with sailing and power vessels of all sizes and configurations including catamarans will help you make better decisions in your search for the right yacht. As you come down the companionway you notice the light, bright interior, with polished stainless steel ports and beautiful raised panel bulkheads. Hatches are thoughtfully placed and the inviting salon with U-Shaped Settee to Port and Long Settee to Starboard is comfortable and welcoming. A furniture grade salon table can be opened to accommodate everyone sitting on either side. A pull out on the port side can be made into a berth. Cabinet doors are varnished to a high luster and drawers have high quality hardware. The upholstery looks like new without any sign of wear. The Joinery and Finish of the Mahogany interior is warm with classic attention to detail like custom draw pulls. One word describes everything you see everywhere you look, "Quality".
The well thought out galley is on the port side of the companionway. A Force 10, 3 burner propane stove/oven, double sink, Sea Frost Refrigerator/Freezer, and a small microwave make this a fully functional, easy to work in space to prepare everything from microwave popcorn to a turkey dinner at Thanksgiving!
A quarter berth is aft to port and starboard side is a head with shower.
Forward is a comfortable V-berth with plenty of storage below and plenty of ventilation.
