This Listing Broker has inspected and heard thousands of times from owners; "that my boat is perfect and is turn-key". That statement isn't always true EXCEPT once again THIS TIME IT IS. Our offering "At Sail" is actually as good as good as a used world cruising yacht can ever get. She won't last long on the brokerage market.

This three stateroom S&S designed Hylas 49 is one of the most sought after boats for many good reasons and she is in magnificent condition with new Awlgrip topsides, deck, and cockpit and beautiful new canvas, and all new B&G electronics! Read on!

From the drawing boards of Sparkman and Stevens, the Hylas 49, Center Cockpit, three stateroom layout is a great choice for bluewater voyaging. There is a reason that this is a very sought after center cockpit, three stateroom cruiser. Sparkman & Stevens was the design team to showed every great designer how to do design all the beautiful great sailing boats. In the Hylas 49, they have created a powerful, swift, and comfortable yacht. She's a pretty boat with a sweet sheer and elongated more traditional lines that make her very recognizable. The Hylas is a refined adaptation of the famous Stevens 47 which we loved also and we're happy to see an even better boat available today.

The sailing performance of the Hylas 49 cannot be refuted. She's a great sailing boat due to the powerful hull shape, a long cruising keel and skeg rudder. The sharp entry, long fin keel, and rounded deep v shape makes her a powerful boat that carries sail and romps off the miles making 170 mile days in supreme comfort and style. Under sail, she cruises at 6.5 to 7 knots with her sailing performance maximized by her 525 sq. ft. fully battened in boom furling mainsail, 150% genoa, inboard-mounted shrouds and genoa tracks, and feathering propeller. Sail handling is easy and safe with a Furlboom in-boom mainsail furling/reefing system and Furlex jib furling. When the wind fails you, you can switch to power with the Yanmar 63hp turbo diesel, 18 inch Autoprop, and with the 145 gallons of diesel you’ll have a range of about 1200 miles.

The three stateroom interior is definitely super comfortable with the center cockpit allowing for that gorgeous aft stateroom that is so desirable for all of us baby boomers heading out there. The interior is also elegant with hand rubbed teak joinery and elegant appointments. This layout gives you three double cabins! Another reason people love this boat. The galley kitchen is huge and extends down the passageway to the owner's stateroom aft.

The Hylas Yachts (Queen Long Marine) builds a great boat. The hull is a solid fiberglass laminate and she has a watertight bulkhead forward separating the chain locker from the interior. The deck layout gives you a deep and secure center cockpit. While some prefer aft cockpits, there are just so many advantages to a center cockpit for cruising comforts. You have good visibility from the helm and the boat does not seem intimidating at all from the helm station two-thirds aft. The cockpit is large enough for a family with cockpit seat benches long enough to stretch out on. The very beautiful sugar scoop transom has wide steps and a boarding ladder.
