JACE is a 2006 Moody 49’. She’s a real treat because in the states we don’t see many of the Moody’s, especially the later models like this. JACE is a Blue Water fast cruiser. One of my favorite designers, Bill Dixon has designed a World-Class vessel with good storage and proportions that a lot of boats in this size category don’t have. You will find a comfortable three-cabin layout with very good storage for distance cruising and ample fuel and water capacities. Her strong underbody design will provide a comfortable ride and the speed necessary for 200 mile days.
The current owners are the second owners. She was bought in France and sailed to the Caribbean and then to the States. She is equipped very well for ocean sailing and has served her owners well with long, fast, safe passages.
Jace is a European-built boat with 220v/50Hz, the standard in most countries around the globe. Her air conditioning units are multi- Hz units, running on either 50 or 60 Hz. JACE just arrived in the states from the Caribbean, a 1400 mile journey with no significant problems. She is a ready-to-go vessel that all serious buyers should see.

The Moody 49 is a true blue water cruising boat, she is engineered for stiffness and strength and is fully capable of navigating the worlds oceans through the full range of cruising conditions. The Moody 49 has been designed without compromise, the balance and power of her underwater sections and lead keel give superb sail carrying ability and stability for swift trans ocean passage times. This sparkling performance is complemented by her ease of handling by two people. Standard equipment includes a fully furling triple spreader cutter rig by Selden.
Accommodations
6 berth layout in 3 cabins
Large L shaped creme leather settee to port with slip covers since new, extending dining table to comfortably seat eight people.
Built-in 2 seater creme leather sofa with slip covers to starboard with large stowage drawer below, and drink locker with bottle stowage.
Additional storage behind the seat backs. Large fore and aft facing windows plus deckhead screened hatches and hull portlights making the saloon a light and airy cabin.
Port forward cabin with two bunks and hanging locker. Opening overhead screened hatch.
Forward guest cabin with central double berth. Stowage in large drawer plus hanging lockers.
Seperate forward toilet and shower with hand basin and stowage lockers.
To Starboard aft of saloon is the large U shaped galley with avonite worktop, 1.5 bowl Stainless Steel sinks with faucet.
Stainless steel Force 10 electric gimballed cooktop with oven, sea rail and pan clamps.
Large stainless steel custom built Danfos DB50 fridge plus top opening freezer with avonite lid.
Overhead lockers with galley exhaust fan over the cooktop. Lower lockers with ample storage for provisions, crockery etc and drawers for cutlery & utensils. Large nav desk with chart stowage and drawer space below.
Navigation displays plus electrical 12 volt DC/240 AC volt distribution panel.

- Extending leaf dining table with decorative teak veneer to the top and magazine rack incorporated into the table pillar with stainless fiddles.
- Built in 2 seater sofa to starboard side with large stowage drawer below, drink locker containing bottle and glass stowage.

Mechanical
- A Yanmar 4JH3-HTE four cylinder diesel engine of 100 horsepower (74kw) is fitted with a mechanical KM4A gearbox with a 2.63:1 gearbox ratio.
