The Gulfstar 50 design has proven to be a stout, practical cruising yacht. Bedouin's classic overhangs and styling will turn heads in any harbor, while her ketch rig allows her sailplan to be easily handled by a shorthanded crew. Her protected center cockpit provides shelter in rough water and a spacious location to relax with guests in a quiet anchorage. Below deck, her spacious three cabin layout will comfortably accommodate six for extended cruising, with arrangements for additional sea berths in the main salon. Solid teak is used liberally throughout, with finely finished storage spaces and lockers with louvered doors. An excellent liveaboard, coastal or blue water cruiser, Bedouin has been maintained by her knowledgeable owner since 1994 and is in EXCELLENT condition!!
Anyone seeking a beautiful center cockpit yacht should most certainly give Bedouin serious consideration.
Accommodations The guest cabin is forward-most and is a large V-berth configuration with shelves, drawers and hanging locker storage capacities. There is a private entrance to the port side head/shower compartment, in addition to the door off the main salon. Opposite the forward head compartment and to starboard is another hanging locker, followed by a straight bench settee and the chart table. To port is the accommodating C-shaped dinette with seating for 6-8 around the teak dinette table. Outboard of the settees are shelves and storage, as well as storage below, doors for the (4) corner salon lockers. Aft of the chart table is a 3rd cabin with over/under single berths with a small utility room and very convenient storage area. At the base of the companionway and to port is the L-shaped galley that also serves as the walk-thru to the aft master cabin. Engine room access is also realized in the walk-thru as well as behind the companionway ladder. Entering the master cabin is hanging locker storage, an athwartship queen berth with very generous drawer storage below, additional hanging locker/shelf storage to starboard and the master head/shower compartment, with separate shower stall. The satin varnished interior wood is all teak solids and teak veneers, solid teak trim, the cabin sole is teak & holly with a gloss varnish

Hull and Deck The Gulfstar 50 is solid laminate GRP construction with a molded keel and internally ballasted. The keel is a modified fin-type keel, followed by a cutaway and then a skeg mounted rudder. The deck is cored except in areas of high load and/or hardware, where it is a solid laminate and then there are backing plates that are drilled and tapped or thru-bolted. The hull-to-deck marriage is done with an internal flange and the deck is then sealed, thru-bolted, and then finished off with a raised teak toe rail.
