The Hylas 56, first launched in 2010, is a mid-sized bluewater cruiser that has earned acclaim throughout the yachting industry as one of the most popular models ever produced by Hylas Yachts. With 27 hulls built, Slainte is among the last delivered as Hull Number 26.
Designed with the signature lines and performance put forth by renowned Naval Architect German Frers and constructed by Queen Long Marine, the exclusive builder of Hylas Yachts, known for their legendary craftsmanship, stout construction, and elegant interior finishings.
Final commissioning was completed in November of 2018. Since then, Slainte has enjoyed extensive cruising throughout the Northwestern Atlantic. Commissioned by an experienced sailor, Slainte was designed to meet the needs that were lacking in their previously owned vessels, making her perfect for summer family cruises in Long Island Sound to Montauk and Block Island, onward to Newport, cruising the Vineyard and Nantucket Sounds as well as offshore passages to Bermuda, BVI’s, Bahamas and up and down the Atlantic coast.
No expense has ever been spared with regards to upkeep and upgrades. As with any fine yacht, Slainte’s program has always emphasized safety first, which has been achieved through a diligent preventative maintenance regime. Slainte has always been under the management of a professional captain who assisted with passage planning and basic vessel handling while underway for offshore passages and deliveries and managed any upgrades and general maintenance while ashore.
A refit was completed in Connecticut during the 2020/21 winter season due to the associated travel complications related to the pandemic. The rig was removed and inspected, and some components were upgraded. The batteries were also replaced, along with a list of other improvements.
She was most recently hauled in March of 2022 for fresh paint on the hull, boot, cove stripes, and anti-fouling paint on the bottom and running gear. Slainte is as good today as the day she was commissioned and is always ready to take you anywhere you desire, safely, comfortably, and in full Corinthian style.
