Jon Van Drent brings a rare combination of real-world adventure, international business expertise, and lifelong sailing experience to his role as a yacht broker. Raised sailing on San Francisco Bay, Jon developed a deep understanding of seamanship and performance boating early on, competing in J/Boat fleets, dinghy racing, and long-distance offshore events.

Before entering the yacht brokerage industry, Jon built a diverse and accomplished professional background. He flew as a bush pilot in Alaska, gaining firsthand experience in decision-making under demanding conditions. He later transitioned into sales roles, including wine sales for a Napa Valley winery, before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Logistics from California Maritime Academy.

Jon went on to spend 12 years in sales management within the ocean container shipping industry, working extensively with global logistics, contract negotiations, and high-value assets. This experience sharpened his ability to manage complex transactions, communicate clearly with clients, and navigate international markets—skills that translate directly to successful yacht sales and purchases.

A lifelong sailor, Jon currently owns and sails a Beneteau First 44.7, further reinforcing his hands-on understanding of yacht ownership, performance, and maintenance. Combining technical knowledge, business acumen, and a genuine passion for boating, Jon provides clients with thoughtful guidance, strong advocacy, and a clear, professional approach throughout every transaction.
