There are yachts that simply tick the boxes, and then there are yachts that leave a lasting impression. Daydreamer is firmly in the latter category.
Originally commissioned by Beneteau as the Australian demonstrator, she was specified with an extensive factory options package to showcase everything that made the Sense 55 one of the most innovative luxury cruising yachts of her generation. Since being delivered to her current owners in 2018, she has enjoyed only light private cruising for a few months each year and has never been chartered, resulting in a beautifully presented yacht that has been maintained with genuine pride of ownership.
Designed by Berret-Racoupeau with interiors by Nauta Design, the Sense 55 redefined luxury cruising by placing the emphasis on comfort, space and effortless living aboard. Wide side decks, a flush cockpit and expansive windows create an unrivalled connection between life on deck and below, flooding the interior with natural light while offering exceptional visibility from every angle.
Stepping below, the feeling is one of space rarely found in a yacht of this size. Rich timber finishes, generous headroom and panoramic glazing create an elegant contemporary interior centred around an inviting saloon ideal for entertaining or extended cruising.
The port-side galley is exceptionally practical, featuring expansive solid-surface benchtops, twin stainless-steel sinks, a three-burner gas stove with oven, generous refrigeration and icebox capacity, and extensive storage throughout. Whether preparing meals at anchor or provisioning for extended passages, the galley has been designed to perform with the functionality of a modern home.
Accommodation is equally impressive. The luxurious forward owner's suite offers a private ensuite, abundant storage and island berth, while the spacious port guest cabin enjoys private access to the second bathroom. An additional starboard cabin provides versatile accommodation for guests or crew, making Daydreamer equally suited to couples cruising, family holidays or extended offshore adventures.
On deck, the Sense 55 is every bit as impressive. Twin leather-wrapped helm stations provide excellent visibility, while wide walk-around decks and a spacious cockpit create a safe and comfortable environment both underway and at anchor. The large cockpit table converts into a sun lounge, making this an exceptional yacht for entertaining.
Powered by the proven 75hp Yanmar saildrive engine (approximately 1,700 hours), Daydreamer is equipped for effortless cruising. Her Selden rig, fully battened mainsail, furling genoa, electric winches, bow thruster and electric windlass allow for easy short-handed sailing, while the twin-rudder hull delivers outstanding control, balance and performance under sail.
Comfort at anchor is equally well considered, with generator, inverter, shore power, air conditioning, hot water, dishwasher, washing machine, solar panels, tender with davits, teak cockpit and side decks, cockpit cushions and a comprehensive suite of onboard systems creating a true home afloat.
Navigation equipment includes radar, AIS, autopilot, chartplotter, wind instruments, depth sounder, VHF, navigation centre and cockpit speakers, providing confidence whether coastal cruising or undertaking longer offshore passages.
Built to Beneteau's renowned construction standards with a solid monolithic hull, cast iron keel and quality Selden spar package, Daydreamer combines proven performance with luxury and practicality in equal measure.
The Beneteau Sense 55 has earned an outstanding reputation worldwide as one of the finest luxury cruising yachts in her class. Opportunities to purchase well-maintained, privately owned examples are increasingly rare, particularly one specified to this level.
Daydreamer presents an outstanding opportunity for discerning buyers seeking a capable bluewater cruiser without compromising on comfort, style or ease of handling.
