INTRODUCTION:
The Shannon 47/52 is designed and built as the ultimate oceangoing thoroughbred but equally comfortable during an afternoon sail. Heirloom quality craftsmanship coupled with state of the art cruising performance affords you a rare opportunity to own a truly outstanding yacht of enduring value. LLYR is a beautiful example of this iconic Shannon model with Walter Schulzes pioneered Scutter rig. She has a three cabin, two head layout with the desirable forward queen berth. LLYR has primarily been used summers in New England and stored inside a heated building each winter and maintained in excellent condition.
CONSTRUCTION:
HULL and DECK:
- One piece hull molded with linear PVC foam core sandwiched between biaxial laminates and vinylester resin.
- Centerline de-core reinforcement gives solid FRP thickness
- Signature Shannon double PVC rub rails painted to match hull with a stainless steel chafe strip
- Matterhorn white Awlgrip finish with red boot stripe
- Blue bottom paint
- Internal ballast of 13,500 lbs and is glassed over
- Skeg hung rudder with bronze shoe provide protection from grounding for foil and 3 blade self-feathering Max-Prop
- One piece deck part with closed cell foam core

DECK DETAILS:
The deck and cockpit are laid out for easy access and sail handling with wide side decks, deep bulwarks and lines led aft the cockpit

COCKPIT:
The large aft cockpit is set up for comfortable cruising and easy single handed sailing. The primary and secondary winches are located aft within easy reach of the helm.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
LLYR has a warm, inviting interior that provides accommodations for 6 comfortably in three cabins with large berths and a convertible double at the dinette. The layout starting at the base of the companionway features a large head to starboard with a separate shower stall and wet locker. Opposite too port is the aft nav station/capt cabin with a large berth. Immediately forward on port is the large galley overlooking the main salon. The main salon area has a U-shaped settee with table to starboard and a pair of comfortable arm chairs to port. A passage door through the forward bulkhead leads to the forward cabin with a centerline double berth and second head.
The light, open interior is finished off in a modified Herreshoff style with a mix of gloss varnished cherry, white bulkheads with satin varnished cherry trim, and fir ceiling strips. Abundant natural light and ventilation is provided by opening portlights and overhead hatches.

The forward cabin has the desirable centerline double berth as well as an ensuite head.
