“Manor Lady” is a true gem in the pre-owned market.  It is unusually rare to find such a well maintained and looked after vessel!   Manor Lady has been professionally maintained from day one.  Her owners took extra care to specify their Tartan 4300, and it shows.  Set up for comfort and reliability, without over complex systems.  They have thoroughly enjoyed their time with her, and it is time to let the next owners experience what she can deliver.  She has been stored and cared for at the same yard since new and the next owners can enjoy the private slip in Stamford Harbor for the rest of this season.   Manor Lady has never been chartered or raced.  She has been used for day sails and local cruising in Long Island Sound and New England.

On the surface, the 4300 has all the design elements of classic American yacht design. Graceful sheerline, balanced overhangs, complimentary low coach roof, sweeping cockpit coamings and thoughtful convenience details on deck all give the 4300 a modern classic profile.  However, built within these stylish good looks are elements that take full advantage of Tartan's advanced construction practices providing excellent performance that is realized with minimum effort.  

A long and lean hull is fit with a low CG keel designed for great stability and sail carrying ability.  Manor Lady features a custom “Hall Spars” carbon mast that is extremely stiff and strong.  Tartan's overall commitment to advancing the art of yacht construction allows an opulent interior while still maintaining impressive performance numbers.  Her weight control results in a center of gravity that is lower than most cruising boats, improving performance and handling characteristics, even when loaded for extended passages.  A modern classic in the making!  Manor Lady, with her claret “red” hull, promises to be a head turner in any harbor.

Her carbon rig is lighter, stiffer and stronger than aluminum; the factory states the weight savings aloft provides the stability equivalent of (5) 200 lb crew members on the rail. Upwind sailing can be made easy by single sheet trimming for the self-tacking jib.  The self-tacking jib system is not currently set up on Manor Lady.  If used, tacking is as easy as a turn of the wheel, the jib tends to itself.  With the traveler mounted on the housetop, the main sheet is clear from the cockpit. When it is time to head for the harbor, the headsail is neatly rolled on the Harken furler, and the mainsail is conveniently dropped and auto-flaked with the “Ducthman” flaking system.  A quick install of the sail cover, with sail ties optional, no muss or fuss, and the main is away. Simply stated, the set up on Manor Lady makes performance cruising easy.

The cockpit is particularly comfortable on Manor Lady.  She features custom made cockpit cushions on all seats.  The fold up cocktail table unfolds to form a wide dining table.  The bimini and dodger add great protection from sun, spray and wind.  The helm station has a large chart plotter and all of the sailing instruments surrounding it, with a large compass below.

The Tartan tradition of offering unmatched interior comfort is expanded in the Tartan 4300.  Manor Lady features a forward primary stateroom with a queen size double "island" berth for easy access and extensive lockers and storage for extended time aboard. The forward head is accessed from this stateroom.  This head features a circular shower stall, that stows neatly along the bulkhead to create more space in the area.  The center of the boat has a large main cabin area with plush seating, entertainment locker and plenty of storage in varnished cherry cabinetry.   The port settee has a pull-out platform with built-in support leg and dedicated cushion, to form another double berth.

Aft, Manor Lady is fit with a single cabin providing private accommodations for another couple. Finish throughout is varnished cherry cabinetry and trim, and a varnished sole, the 4300 surrounds her owner with opulent comfort.  The aft head is accessible from the saloon/galley area and from the aft cabin.  It features a separate stall shower with fold away door to enlarge the space.

The hull design of the 4300 continues the Tartan trend of long waterline, slippery entry forward, full and flat aft quarters and carefully sculpted balanced volume to produce a yacht that is easily driven and powerful for maximum performance. Her long waterline length relative to over-all length provides a high theoretical hull speed and the full aft sections allow the 4300 to surf and extend her sailing and motoring length to provide fast and exhilarating passage making. 

By maintaining balanced volume in the hull, the 4300 heals predictably and evenly, unlike many extreme designs that develop bad manners under difficult conditions. Through optimized hull design the 4300 will extend your daily range, expanding the possibilities for weekend cruising and offering long daily passages offshore. 

Safety and comfort aboard require a thoughtfully designed deck and cockpit and as with past Tartans, the 4300 excels in this area.  Visibility, wide and uncluttered side decks, and a deep and secure cockpit are essential elements of the 4300.  Additionally, the deck offers an abundance of ventilation through many opening portlights, and deck hatches.  There are 4 beautiful stainless steel Dorade vents.  The dodger offers protection from spray and wind.  The traveler is mounted clear of the cockpit and coach roof for the safety of the guests in the cockpit.  Double lifelines, extended bow and stern rails and handrails within easy reach offer on deck security and comfort.
