PRELIMINARY DETAILS

Chaos began life as a Grand Banks 54 SX and was transformed through major rebuilds directed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates, Lyman-Morse, and Front Street Shipyard. The resulting yacht is substantially different from the original platform. This is a semi-custom yacht built around a comprehensive mechanical systems transformation and hull extension, followed by a second phase of flybridge and equipment upgrades.

Why Chaos Is Different

• The vessel has been extensively modified beyond its original Grand Banks 54 SX configuration
• The major rebuilds were carried out under the direction of established builders and C. Raymond Hunt Associates
• The resulting package combines a custom-lengthened hull, rebuilt propulsion plant, joystick maneuvering, flybridge and extensive systems upgrades

 THE TRANSFORMATION

Chaos has undergone two major phases of customization. The work fundamentally changed the vessel from its original Grand Banks 54 SX configuration into the current custom 57 Flybridge.

2008–2010 | Lyman-Morse Rebuild

• Hull extended by 3 feet and fitted with a custom 5-foot swim platform
• Topsides and bottom faired and repainted
• Engine room completely stripped and rebuilt

HULL, DECK & EXTERIOR

The hull and deck were substantially upgraded during the rebuild, including structural lengthening, fairing, barrier coating and a custom Awlgrip finish.

• Three feet added to hull following design and engineering work by C. Raymond Hunt and Associates

The custom flybridge added in 2013 gives Chaos a second command position and an elevated outdoor entertaining area while retaining the visibility and comfort of the enclosed pilot salon.
