42' MUSSEL RIDGE - "PRETTY WORK"

"Pretty Work" is a 42-foot Mussel Ridge finished by Samoset Boat Works in the spring of 2025. The boat is powered by a single 900 HP Scania DC13 with approximately 50 hours and is paired with a Twin Disc QuickShift transmission, 2.5-inch Aquamet shaft and 5-blade NiBrAl propeller.

The boat was laid out with fishing and day-to-day operation in mind. Three control stations provide options for running the boat from the enclosed helm, cockpit/bulkhead area or stern. The cockpit includes a large refrigerated centerline fish hold, two circulating bait wells, tuna door with ramp, hydraulic washdown, pot hauler and stainless davit.

"Pretty Work" offers a low-hour Scania package, substantial fuel capacity and a purpose-built fishing layout in a 42-foot Downeast platform.

The working deck is set up around offshore fishing rather than unnecessary interior additions. A large insulated centerline fish hold measures approximately 4' x 4.5' x 8.5' and is equipped with freezer plates and an ice dump. An onboard ice maker feeds directly into the fish hold. Two fiberglass circulating bait wells are also fitted with freezer plates.

The main helm is offset to starboard with a custom navigation and electrical console. Electronics are centered around Garmin equipment, with two large displays at the main station and an additional display in the cockpit.

Inside, the arrangement remains straightforward and usable. The helm has a STIDD pedestal captain's chair and STIDD bench mate's seat. The galley is positioned to starboard and includes dual Isotherm refrigerator/freezer units.
