Blue Pearl is a 2006 Hylas 54 Raised Salon, the flagship of the Hylas 54 line and as circumnavigation ready as any yacht on the market. Under her prior owners she completed the 2018 World ARC Rally, routinely finishing at the top of the fleet, and cruised extensively through the Caribbean and the Atlantic, including the ARC Europe to Bermuda, the Azores and Portugal, and the ARC+ from the Canary Islands and Cape Verde, before a major refit culminated in spring 2024 with a new Yanmar engine and new standing rigging. Her current owners purchased her in 2024 and have since cruised the Chesapeake, New England, Nova Scotia, Florida and the Bahamas over the past two seasons, adding a new Quantum mainsail, a taller dodger, a new bimini and enclosure, and a new Victron inverter/charger with an expanded lithium battery bank. Blue Pearl has a traditional three cabin, two head layout with a nav station and passageway galley. The raised saloon configuration gives excellent views all around, with raised panel cabinetry, teak veneer window surrounds, and a marine vinyl overhead with teak battens throughout.
To the port aft side of the saloon is the nav station, laid out with a chart table, a custom chart storage box, a laptop desk and plenty of cabinet storage. It is the nerve center of Blue Pearl, monitoring and controlling all of her systems. On the starboard side is the passageway galley, upgraded with a dough mixer, increased refrigeration, a 3-in-1 microwave and additional counter space. Continuing aft, the master cabin has a centerline king berth with a private ensuite head. Forward of the saloon are the guest quarters, with a VIP stateroom in the bow and a bunk cabin to port, served by a shared guest/day head with ensuite access from the VIP.

MAIN SALOON
The raised saloon configuration gives excellent views all around, with a Birdseye maple dinette table and comfortable seating for entertaining or relaxing underway.
- Dinette: Birdseye maple dinette table with four folding leaves, height adjustable, and a sliding dinette seat/ottoman. Inside the sliding seat is a large chest sized storage are containing virtually every tool you will need for minor repairs and maintenance.
- Sea Berth: Starboard side slide-out settee forms a sea berth, with a port side book shelf. Under are massive storage areas containing more storage, tools, parts and supplies (electrical and plumbing supplies, filters, pumps, etc.) including a spare Lewmar Mamba autopilot motor and spare Yanmar ECU.
- Upholstery: White Ultra-leather cushions, with sliding curtains and snap in covers for the saloon windows.

MASTER CABIN
Aft, the master cabin has a king-size island berth and is the owner's private sanctuary.

- Storage: Three hanging lockers, numerous storage compartments and three bookshelves, with a port side powder station modified to add a clothes hamper.

Master Head
The master head is a private ensuite off the master cabin.

FORWARD VIP CABIN
The VIP stateroom is well-appointed and can easily accommodate a second couple for long-term cruising.
- Berth: Preferred island queen berth with night tables and storage inside including tools, parts and supplies within (lubes, filters, sealants, etc.)
- Custom spring mattress, split in the middle and folding for access to the mechanicals beneath the bed
- Storage: Two hanging lockers and several cabinets, plus a clothes hanger.
- Ventilation: Large overhead deck hatch with an Oceanair screen/blind, two reading lamps and two 12V Hella fans (2016).
- Comfort: Mirror on the forward bulkhead over the berth, two small seats with cushion, two teak grab handles, lee cloth pad eyes and a fishing rod holder.
Guest/Day Head
On starboard, the guest/day head also has ensuite access from the VIP stateroom.

HULL
The hull of the Hylas 54 is built of solid laminate with a Twaron (Kevlar) liner for extra durability and impact resistance. Blue Pearl's hull has been expertly maintained, with regular detailing of her Awlgrip paint job.
- Topsides repainted Awlgrip Navy Blue with white boot stripes and gold cove stripe, with all hull hardware removed for the finish and the original above-waterline air conditioning discharges glassed in and painted over – 2019

DECK
The deck has been well maintained and includes several notable upgrades from her sister ships, with exterior teak left to weather naturally.
- Bowsprit & Furlers: Custom bowsprit for the gennaker, with all three foresail furling units recent additions of high specification. (Resealed furler wiring and spare furler motor added to inventory 2026).
- Deck Locker: Custom deck locker forward of the mast for the gennaker and other gear, freeing up space in the sail locker, with the frame tying into the forward dorade vents for a factory look.
- Anchor & Sail Lockers: Anchor locker with storage for docking gear and a saltwater wash-down hose, and a deep sail locker aft of it for extra-sized cruising gear.
- LPG & Lazarettes: Duplicate LPG tank lockers port and starboard, and three lazarettes on the transom.
- Cockpit Table: Custom-fitted folding table on the starboard aft railing for cocktail hours, meal prep or fish cleaning, plus two built-in corner seats with stainless steel bases and cushions.
- Transom Layout: Two stainless steel electronics masts, one fitted with an outboard motor crane with a mounting block on the port aft rail; a quick-release stern rail holder for the liferaft; top-of-the-line stainless steel Simpson davits for the Highfield tender, with solar panels mounted atop them.

- Aft Deck: Simpson Lawrence stainless steel davits, serviced with cables replaced (2024) and mounting bolts replaced and upgraded (2023); Aquatread aft deck steps replacing the original teak (2019); a fold up table on the starboard rail (2019); stainless steel aft seats replacing the original teak (2019); a carbon fiber two-piece passerelle for European Med mooring; and a transom hot/cold shower.
MAST AND RIGGING
- Mast: Selden triple spreader aluminum mast.
- NEW Standing rigging replaced (previously replaced in 2017) – 2024
- Jumper Stay: Added to the mast, increasing rigidity and lowering the need to use the running backstays except in stronger weather, and simplifying the backstay.
- Harken halyard locks and tracks added for the main, genoa and staysail, reducing the number of lines needed at the mast, stopping halyard creep and increasing offshore durability
- Furlers: Bamar electric RLG-CODE MEJ RollGen furler on a stainless steel schedule 80 bowsprit with 2:1 halyard and port/starboard cockpit controls (2019); Bamar electric EJF 1 genoa furler with port/starboard cockpit controls (2019); staysail furler replaced with a Selden Furlex 404S.
- Preventer: Permanently installed preventer lines and blocks added to the deck for regular use during ocean crossings, with port and starboard rigged preventer lines and standup blocks on the bow.
- Custom stainless steel masthead crane to support a Code 0 – 2017

- Cabin top winch and mainsail electric furling control panel custom made for easy use of the mainsail – 2019
- Whisker Pole: Aluminum whisker pole mounted on the front of the mast, upgraded with a carbon fiber extendable inner pole (2023).
- Chainplates: All chain plates inspected and deck plates resealed with butyl tape.
SAILS AND WINCHES
- NEW Quantum high performance mainsail, replacing the prior Quantum Tri-Radial Hydranet in-mast furling mainsail – 2025
- Quantum AWA 60 Code Zero CZ Silver with a Dacron UV cover, furling (2021), for excellent use off the wind reaching or in higher breeze
- Quantum A2 asymmetrical spinnaker, orange, furling (2017), better suited for deeper angle moderate breezes
- Furling staysail rounds out the inventory for extra punch in choppy conditions or use as a storm sail
- Sail Handling: Whisker pole and preventer allow for safe sailing dead downwind. All sails were serviced over the most recent winter.
ENGINE AND MECHANICAL
Blue Pearl is powered by a recent common rail Yanmar 110 HP engine, with the entire powertrain upgraded alongside it, and every system built for seamless USA/European use with 50/60Hz compatible equipment throughout.

- Oil System: Oil change system for the engine and transmission, upgraded and relocated for better access.

PLUMBING AND TANKAGE
Virtually every hose and hose clamp aboard has been replaced since 2017, with the plumbing built for offshore reliability and worldwide voltage compatibility.
- Fresh Water: Freshwater manifold system across four tanks, with primary and backup 12V freshwater pumps.
- Replaced original water heater with twin Isotemp 4.2 gallon (8.4 gallons total) Slim Square water heaters with separate elements for US and European voltage, effectively creating one large water heater for worldwide use – 2019
- Blue Water Legend 220V 50/60hz 750 gal/day water maker with Soft Start and several spare filters, (new motherboard and serviced 2026) – 2019
- Washdown & Grey Water: Saltwater anchor wash down pump and a galley sink grey water tank.
- Sump boxes and pumps replaced – 2021
- Bilge: Arid Bilge Systems dry bilge vacuum (2016, upgraded 2020) and an Ultra Safety Systems bilge pump switch (2016); bilge pump replaced (2026).
- Air Conditioning: Webasto Blue Cool S16 230V 50/60hz R-410 reverse cycle air conditioning with My Touch displays (3 units, 2019), 16,000 BTU each for 48,000 BTU total, above the original Hylas specification of 40,000 BTU. Water discharges moved to a single below-waterline discharge, with condensation routed to the sump boxes and the system acid flushed yearly.
- NEW New saloon air conditioning unit – 2026
- Holding: Two 27 gallon holding tanks (54 gallons total).
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Shore Power: 50A 125V/250V 60Hz shore power inlet with a 50 ft cable, and a 32A 230V 50Hz European shore power inlet with a 50 ft cable (2016), with a rotary selector switch for USA/European input (2016), Hylas digital monitors for USA shore power, and a Blue Sea M2 monitor for European shore power (2019).
- Northern Lights 9 kW generator in a sound enclosure, with a control panel at the nav station, exhaust water discharge below the waterline to reduce noise and back pressure, a Racor fuel filter and an oil change system
- Batteries: Relion Lithium and Northstar AGM battery banks for house, windlass/thruster/furlers, and engine/generator start (2019); the house lithium bank now totals 1,840 Ah.

- Outback PSX-240 Balancing Transformer for 50Hz European shore power (2016)
- Distribution: Blue Sea remote battery switches on major equipment, upgraded power distribution wiring, a remote battery switch panel at the nav station for 110V equipment (2019), the Hylas standard 12V DC/AC breaker panel modified so only 230V AC equipment remains on the main panel, an auxiliary entertainment panel at the starboard saloon settee (unused but functional), an auxiliary panel at the helm for exterior lighting, windlass, blowers and alarms, and 110V outlets throughout labeled to their corresponding inverter.
- Alternators: Balmar 120A (240A total) smart alternators on the engine with a Balmar regulator
- Solar: Solara 140W panels (2, 280W total) on davit mounts with Victron 15A MPPT controllers, one per panel (2016).
- Watt & Sea 600W Cruising Generator hydrogenerator with transom mount and stern rail storage mount (2017), with waterproof wiring quick connect on the aft deck, serviced – 2026
