Quad Mercury V12 600 Verado — Seakeeper 6 — Lying Puerto Banús

The Scout 530 LXF is the flagship of the range and among the most accomplished outboard yachts in production. Fifty-three feet of infused carbon fibre, 2,400 hp from four Mercury V12 Verados and Seakeeper 6 stabilisation, with accommodation for five. Effortless at pace, composed at anchor, and designed to be lived aboard. This 2022 example is finished in Crystal Blue and comprehensively specified from new. Lying Puerto Banús, ready for the coming season.

Performance and handling. The hull, deck, hardtop and stringer grid are epoxy-infused carbon fibre and E-glass, fully cored, on a twin-stepped bottom with 18° of deadrise. The four V12 600 Verados are the maximum rated installation for the model, with two-speed automatic transmissions and steerable gearcases. Joystick piloting with Skyhook, Zipwake dynamic trim and a proportional bow thruster make her effortlessly controllable in close quarters. The Seakeeper 6 removes roll at anchor, on the drift and at displacement speed.

Deck. Hydraulic beach platforms fold down port and starboard to create a teak terrace five metres wide at the waterline, with twin transom doors opening onto a full-beam platform aft of the engines. The cockpit island carries an electric grill, sink and drawer refrigerator, with bar stools and stadium seating for three behind it. Forward, the bow lounge has wraparound seating and twin electrically actuated tables that lower flush to form a full-width sun pad, with a retractable bimini extension for shade. The helm is fully enclosed with sliding side windows, dedicated air conditioning and heated seating for seven.

Sportfishing. She left the factory tournament-rigged. A Release Marine rocket-launcher table, aerated transom livewells, insulated in-deck fish boxes, lockable in-deck rod storage, transom and gunwale rod holders, electric reel plugs and a dive tank and liferaft locker beneath the seating. Eight pull-up cleats and Phender Pro receivers keep the decks clear.

Navigation and systems. A Garmin package comprising a 24-inch MFD at the helm, 12-inch overhead MFD, 8617 at the port mezzanine, 9224 display to port and a further MFD in the cabin, with GRID remote, VHF and bow camera. CZone digital switching throughout. Fischer Panda 15 kW generator, twin 50 A Glendinning shore-power reels, 42-litre water heater, battery chargers, Lewmar windlass with 20 kg Delta anchor and freshwater washdown. JL Audio: twelve speakers, four 10-inch subwoofers and three amplifiers on a Fusion head unit with bow remote.

Accommodation. Oak joinery and 2.06 m of headroom. A queen stateroom forward with electric-shade hull window and rod storage beneath the berth; an enclosed double aft; and a saloon dinette whose electric pedestal table lowers to make a third berth. The galley has a two-burner hob, microwave, drawer refrigerator, drawer freezer with ice maker and a wine cooler. Heads and shower are separate compartments, each with its own skylight, with marble surfaces and a lit teak sole. Two 32-inch televisions, Apple TV, 16,000 BTU air conditioning, a saloon skylight with automatic shade and a hanging locker complete the picture.
