GET IN TOUCH WITH A BROKER
"Valhalla" is an excellent example of a Valiant 42 CE Queen set up for serious offshore cruising. Valhalla is #69 of the 85 Valiant 42s built by Valiant’s craftsmen in Texas. The current owner has updated her mechanicals including main engine and genset. Ports and hatches as well as chain plates were re-bedded (2020). Solar panels and wind generator allow her to cruise "off the grid". AC and Espar heater make her comfortable in both warm and cool climates. She is worth consideration for the sailor interested in offshore cruising.
Starting forward, the Master stateroom has a super wide queen sized V-berth. There is good reason this is the most popular layout. The hull sides are finished with Ash battens, and there are two roomy cabinets on each side above the berth. A reading light and a book shelf port and starboard give perfect individual space for each occupant of this spacious double berth. Two large drawers under the berth are lined with aromatic cedar. Aft of the berth, there is a large cedar-lined hanging locker to port with a bench seat and a smaller locker with two shelves and a bench seat to starboard. The bi-fold Cherry door provides privacy with dressing space in the cabin. Good ventilation is provided by two opening ports, an overhead hatch, a removable solar vent and two fans
Just aft of the main structural bulkhead, the main salon is extremely spacious with a traditional centerline drop-leaf table and an L-shaped settee with a 6'6" berth to port. There is storage behind the port settee and the port water tank is below. The port outboard cabinetry includes a large cabinet at the aft end of the settee and double shelves occupying the rest of the full length. To starboard there is a straight 6'6" settee berth with two cabinets and two shelves outboard and additional storage behind the settee back and the starboard water tank is below. The water tanks under the settees are designed to come out through the companionway if you ever need to replace them, which likely will not be an issue because they are high and dry under the settees. The traditional drop leaf table folds out to seat six easily for dinner.
It will not be hard to cook dinner either! Just aft of the salon on the port side is the Valiant classic U shaped galley, considered one of the best galleys on any boat. The galley will make any chef very, very happy. The propane stove is outboard with dish storage and cupboards outboard and additional storage below. Forward is the freezer outboard and the refrigerator with additional counter space, a flatware drawer, and roll out trash bin. The aft facing side features three drawers, double stainless sink with storage under, and deep dry storage outboard. There is a large cabinet above the sink. The famous Valiant pantry is adjacent just aft of the nav station. Above the stove is space for a microwave in a dedicated cabinet which currently provides great additional storage.
The Valiant nav station is a large, functional, sit down, forward facing, navigation station; This is a real ships office essential for cruising comforts.
The aft cabin on the port quarter meets all your requirements to have guests aboard anywhere on your travels. More importantly when cruising shorthanded, this is your sea berth when you are sailing on a passage. Located beside the companionway on the port quarter, the off watch crew member can be peacefully sleeping just three feet from the cockpit. This cabin is a nice double berth with privacy as it has a door and a folding panel to close it up. There is also a bench seat with storage under, a cedar lined hanging locker and two large cedar lined drawers. Good ventilation is provided by two opening ports, an overhead hatch and a fan. The batteries and hot water heater are installed under the berth.
The offshore designed head is to starboard at the bottom of the companionway. Handy to the cockpit and the perfect location for keeping wet clothes etc. out of the rest of the boat. There is a separate ensuite stall shower with an outboard wet locker. Two opening ports and a 12 volt fan in the head plus an additional port and hatch in the shower privide excellent ventilation. Cabinetry includes two cabinets above the sink counter and generous storage under the sink counter. Removable doors behind the head provide excellent access to the engine room

Galley Details
The galley is one of the most important aspects of a great cruising boat, and the Valiant 42 has a galley coveted by cruisers because it has everything you need including the Valiant pantry!
