PELICAN, the Wind Dancer Sarasota 58' Ketch was designed by prolific Swedish naval architect, Hakan Sodergren, and built by the best team of SW Florida Sarasota boat builders in 2004. She has  classic beauty with impressive performance and luxurious dockside living.

PELICAN combines a gentle curving fluid interior design of Cherry & Teak finishes with hints of Ted Irwin's exterior styling. The Sarasota builders package provided for an ocean cruising, performance yacht with lots of creature comforts for extended sailing living, working & playing aboard. Very private, sumptuous Master Suite aft. Very comfortable VIP suite forward for family & far flung friends. 3rd Twin Cabin begs to be a big utility or kid room.  PELICAN's 17'3" beam on deck, provides for an expansive, protected, commanding EZ2CY center cockpit. Noticeable also, are the wide side decks that carry aft, in the hull as well, to the aft deck and the "jump in" Lazerette. The 12' 2021 dingy is cradled in the Kato winch davits. You have the grand entrance to your water world & water toy access from the side deck gates & beefy rub rail for a natural step on & off. Non skid (NO TEAK!) decks have easy access all over the exterior decks around shrouds & fittings. Tons of sunning opportunities forward & on the aft deck. And the proud 8' Teak bow pulpit is excellent for spotting sea friends, horizons & the Green Flash.

Her ketch rig carries a tall, powerful mizzen to keep her main mast at 64'. Jib, Genoa & spinnaker sails are enhanced by the extended bow pulpit, plus mizzen stay sail , blooper & more. Lots of sail combinations to balance most sea conditions, enhancing safer passages.

Accommodations

PELICAN offers an open plan, beautifully blended Salon/Galley/Nav Station areas with nooks and favorate spots to hang with 3 private staterooms. The open salon has L-shaped dining for 6 to 8 to starboard.  To port is an L-shaped settee. Aft in the salon is the curved nav station with ship-shape main electrical panel. The galley bar includes 2 low bar stools, a knock out hang out area overlooking The Great Room. A  comfortable living layout with copious storage for personal items and vessel supplies, tools and equipment. The Owners and/or guests can sleep in 3 staterooms. Master Stateroom has a walk-around King berth and private head (Raritan Elegant Throne), curved Cherry vanity, full cedar hanging closets and a stall shower. There is a walk-around Queen Berth forward with a vanity, hanging closets and tons of ventilation throughout. The two forward cabins share the day head (Raritan Elegant Throne) and another stall shower. The third stateroom has Twin bunk Beds. The Salon Dinette lowers to make a day bed, and/or sleeps 2 more.
