Altair is a very special Passport 470 center cockpit! She was designed and built for her original owner with a custom three-stateroom interior layout and a staysail ketch rig. Although Altair is technically a ketch with her mizzen mast located forward of the rudder post, she has the appearance of a yawl because the mizzen mast is shorter than a traditional ketch. With her striking blue hull and split rig, she is truly beautiful and obviously very versatile under sail. All of her sails are roller furling and can be operated from the cockpit, adding to her ease of handling and safety at sea.
