GET IN TOUCH WITH A BROKER
“Mandate” is an elegant three-stateroom cruiser by Ta Yang, the builder of Tayana Yachts. She has a powerful cutter rig, graceful lines, and a modern “sugar scoop” transom. “Mandate” has been Captain-maintained during this owner’s tenure and has had no expense spared to keep her in top condition.
Recent upgrades include a new water heater (2025), ice maker (2024), propane locker regulator and hose, 11 hp Sidepower bow thruster, new dodger and bimini (2019), and a gorgeous, dark blue Awlgrip paint job. She has also had a new teak deck done under the previous ownership.
Truly a special cruising yacht for the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, and beyond.
Accommodations
Mandate features a 3-stateroom, 2-head interior. She sleeps a total of 8, 6 owners and guests in the three staterooms and an additional pull-out in the main salon to sleep another two. Mandate’s interior is beautifully finished in satin varnished teak cabinetry and highlighted by a high gloss teak and holly sole. She is fully air-conditioned for comfort in warm or tropical weather and heated for colder climes.
VIP Stateroom, Forward
The forward VIP Stateroom features a centerline double berth with a hanging locker, drawers, and shelves for storage and books. There is a large hatch for light and ventilation, and two additional opening hatches. The interior is teak, and the soft goods are blue.
Guest Stateroom, Port
Aft of the forward stateroom is a second guest stateroom that features a double bunk with drawers underneath and shelves outboard. There are lights for reading and a hatch for ventilation. There is also a large closet. The quality of the woodwork is outstanding, as it is with all the interior staterooms.
Guest Head
Directly across the guest stateroom to starboard is the guest head. Features include a Vacu-flush head, sink, vanity, mirror, and separate shower stall. Finish is in easy-to-clean Formica with teak trim. This head can be accessed from the VIP stateroom or the guest stateroom.
Main Salon, Amidships
Moving farther aft, we reach the main salon. To port is the dining area with seating for six around an expandable teak table. There is an icemaker cleverly built into the base of the table. Outboard, there are two lockers for storage with louvered doors and a bookshelf in between. There is also storage under and behind the settee. Across to starboard is a straight settee that can pull out to make a double berth. There are cabinets underneath and lockers outboard, and a bookshelf. The salon is all satin varnished teak and is fully air-conditioned. Hatches above provide natural ventilation and light. The salon sole is a glossy teak and holly. Tucked aft of the salon area is the nav station. There is a large area for charts with storage beneath. Outboard are the electronics, chart plotters, radios, etc., while aft are the electric panels. Everything is right there at your fingertips!
Galley
The thoughtful and well-designed galley starts at the aft of the settee berth and runs along the walkway to the aft stateroom. Galley Features include:
SS double sinks with hot and cold water
4-burner SS propane stove with/ oven and broiler, and shut-off solenoid
Built-in microwave oven
Built-in trash compactor
Refrigerator and freezer, and a separate refrigerated drink locker, all 110v or engine-driven
Hot water heater, 12 gallon (2025)
There are numerous opening lockers and drawers for storage, along with counter space for food prep.
Master Stateroom, Aft
All the way aft is the Owner’s stateroom. It is a large cabin with a centerline queen berth, two large hanging lockers, and numerous drawers and shelves for storage. There is a large opening hatch and two smaller hatches for natural light and ventilation while at anchor, and it is fully air-conditioned for rainy or marina days. To port and forward is the master head featuring a Vacu-flush head, sink, vanity, and mirror. There is plenty of storage in numerous drawers. There is also a built in Splendid washer/dryer.

Sails and Rigging
“Mandate” is ideally set up for short-handed sailing. With its "Leisure-Furl" in-boom mainsail and with electric winches for both halyard and furling, it is a breeze! This New Zealand built mainsail-furling system is the system of choice for larger yachts. It allows for a mainsail (with full battens and a full roach with infinite reefing possibilities) which gives a substantial increase in performance over an in-the-mast furling system.
