The interior of Starlight is both practical and comfortable. Bulkheads are varnished teak, overhead details mirror the exterior deck lines, and the floorboards are teak and holly. With a single entry, both the galley and main salon are larger and more spacious than most Cambria’s. She will sleep seven in comfort, two in the forward cabin, three in the main salon, and two in the aft cabin. All upholstery was new in 2010. There is a Webasto diesel heating system, new in 2016, with vents in each cabin.
The forward cabin features a traditional v-berth with filler, 2 long shelves, lighted hanging locker, and individual clothes stowage port and starboard. Under the V-berth is a 40 gallon water tank and 35 gallon holding tank, with ample additional space. The anchor chain locker hatch is in the forward bulkhead. There is a Goiot hatch above, and there are two 110 volt outlets, one 12 v outlet, and 2 speakers.
The forward cabin is separated from the main salon by a short passageway with a small Goiot deck hatch. The forward head is to port and storage lockers to starboard. The head has a shower, commode, sink, storage, and a small Goiot hatch above.
The main salon has a convertible L-shaped settee to port that pulls out to sleep two. The settees are backed with curved bolsters, seating six at the double drop leaf table. There are two storage lockers behind each settee, and the 38 gallon water tanks are beneath each settee. The shower sump pump, diverter valve, and salt water wash-down pumps are located under the L of the port settee. There are upper shelves and storage lockers on the starboard side, with a carbon monoxide alarm attached to the overhead. There are two smoke detectors. To port is the entertainment center, with a Fusion sound system and Sirius XM radio. There are two large, reversible Goiot hatches overhead. There is a propane alarm in the bilge pump sump next to to the galley.
The U-shaped galley is aft of the main salon, facing outboard to port with 2 fixed portholes and a small Goiot hatch above. The stove is a 3 burner Force 10, new in 2013, with an oven and broiler. There is a stainless safety bar in front of the gimbaled stove, along with a locking mechanism. The sink is aluminum, 2 basin, and there are fresh, salt, and freezer and refrigeration drain pumps. Ample drawers and shelf space, easily reachable, surrounds the galley. The Seafrost top loading refrigerator and freezer are cooled by an engine driven compressor, with a 110 volt system when on shore power.
The aft cabin includes the navigation station to port, with the hinged Bass circuit breaker panel mounted outboard. To starboard is the aft head with separate stall shower. Across from the navigation station is the hanging gear locker and a set of drawers. The quarter berth extends aft, under which are the batteries and ample storage.
Engine room access is behind the companionway way ladder, along with removable panels in the quarterberth and the cockpit locker.
There are 2 brass reading lights, courtesy red night lights, and ample overhead lighting, all LED.
Starboard of companionway:
At Navigation station:
The hull is hand laid fiberglass with Airex core brought just through the waterline. At the keel there is 1 ½ inches of solid fiberglass. The hull was painted light blue with Imron in 2010, with a double white boot top and gold cove stripe. The toe rail is varnished teak.
The deck is fiberglass with a core of Divinycell foam, providing stiffness, and sound and thermal insulation. Starlight was one of three Cambria’s built with non-skid deck surfaces, so there are no worries about leaks from fasteners for teak decks. The wide side decks enable easy, safe movement forward when necessary, and the teak toe rails are pretty and allow water to quickly drain off. The commodious cockpit locker to port easily accommodates fenders, docking lines, and various gear. To starboard is a shallow locker for winch handles. In addition, there is an ATL 50 gallon fuel bladder and electric fuel transfer pump.
