Ditch the Docking Expenses

 By George Eberhard

Clients ask all the time about a good live aboard.  Over the years I’ve seen clients live aboard many boats of all sizes and ages.  It comes down to what can you afford and what makes sense for your individual circumstance.  There is no one boat fits all but thought it was worth letting our clients know about a unique opportunity to live aboard in Paradise, with no month-to-month mooring expense!   Yes, that’s right no monthly mooring expense!  How is this possible?

Drunken Parrot, a 1982 Transpac, currently located in St. Croix, USVI comes with a permanent mooring near Frederiksted, St Croix.

The owners had the city install a permanent mooring that belongs to them and will transfer with the sale of the vessel.  The mooring is located in front of their Bed and Breakfast, THE DRUNKEN PARROT BEACH HOUSE.  Talk about a smooth transition after purchase.  Normally this is a big deal, OK I bought a boat, now where am I going to put her, and how much is it going to cost?

In this case, you simply get to buy your boat and start your adventure!!

DRUNKEN PARROT is a comfortable three cabin, very well-built Cruising vessel with abundant storage.  In 2019 her bottom was sandblasted, faired, and 4 coats of epoxy barrier along with two coats of bottom paint.  Her topsides painted in 2019.  She has 6 new Lithium-ion batteries, 100 amp/hr., each and 8 new solar panels with new controllers just installed in May 2021.  Her teak decks were replaced during a 2002-03 refit as well.  And in 2019 new Seatalk cables and new Raymarine Axiom instruments installed, including Evolution Sail-Pilot Autopilot.  Her Ford Lehman 120HP engine and 8Kw Westerbeke generator and Side Power bow thruster make her very manageable underway.   Well, there it is your perfect Liveaboard.  I recently checked and you can get round trip direct flights to St Croix out of Ft Lauderdale for under $200.

What’s stopping you? This is an opportunity that is WAY too good to pass up - talk to me about scheduling a showing today!
